Guest guest
Just wanted to let everyone know that is doing pretty good. On Monday she tried to go back to work despite my urging her to stay home for at least one more day. Well she lasted about an hour before she decided that she felt to woozy to work. Took her home and on the way home she told me that she was feeling a little pain when she urinated. I called the oncologist and they said bring her in today because she shouldn't be feeling any pain. They did blood work, gave her an IV and took a urine sample. They said that she was dehydrated and that may have caused the pain, but we haven't heard the results yet. I will be calling them today to find out what it was. They were concerned that she might be contracting a urinary tract infection or bladder infection. They didn't call yesterday so it must not have been serious in their eyes. When I talked to the ocn nurse I told her that I thought that the dosage of the chemo treatment may have been too much for her and surprisingly the ocn nurse agreed. I mean really is only 4'9 " tall and 75 lbs on her good days. She doesn't need a dosage for someone who is 5'9 " tall and 175 lbs. We'll see what comes with her next treatment next Thursday. She went back to work yesterday and said she felt pretty good except for some pain in her hip/upper leg area. She works as a proof operator for a local bank and part of that is sitting there doing data entry all day, but I am sure that the other part is the chemo. The pain from the surgery almost 6 weeks ago is starting to go away finally. She still has a little pain in the butt if you know what I mean. Not sure if that is from being tense worrying about it or what, I will speak with the oncologists office and maybe the doctor who performed the colonoscopy today to see if this is normal. She spoke with the surgeon who did her resection and he didn't seem at all concerned about it. Guess he figured it was normal. She is supposed to go in on Thursday for more blood work, but that was scheduled immediately after her first chemo treatment and she asked that I call and see if she still needs to go in after they did blood work on Monday. So now I have her drinking lots of Gatorade to keep from becoming dehyrated again. She doesn't much like it so we may opt for the Pedialyte instead. I'll pick some up today and see if she likes that better. She definately doesn't like cold stuff though, is almost to the point of being deathly afraid of it.
