Guest guest
Hi, well we got more bad news...again. My mom got a registered letter today from blue cross and blue shield, they have canceled her policy. She took it out in October of last year and paid for a year. It was effective on Dec 1 and her cancer was diagnosed on Nov 28th. Now she is without any coverage. She owns her house, she has some money for retirement so she doesn't qualify for help from the state. This is going to ruin her financially and we don't have a clue what to do now. Anyone have any ideas? I seriously doubt she can find any company that will cover her now.

Guest guest
How old is your mom. She must be on social security? I am 62 and just went on disabiliy. I had been told if I got on disability they would cover the time between when my cobra runs out when I am in the 63+ age until I hit 65 and be eligible for Medicare. All I can say is fight like the dickens; I am like you mom have my own home and retirement monies. You would think we didn't have enough to worry about. Karima a question about insurance Hi, well we got more bad news...again. My mom got a registered letter today from blue cross and blue shield, they have canceled her policy. Guest guest
The first thing to do is to call the Patient Advocacy Foundation and see what they say. There main focus is insurance issues. Find out if there is some loop hole that might keep BC/BS from dumping her. Then go to their website and look through their State Financial Resources listings and contact everyone on the list for your state that might even remotely be a possible source. Lastly contact the pharmaceutical companies that make the drugs she needs and get on their patient assistance programs. Priscilla A. Guest guest
When My hubby turned 65 we went to civilian hospital and White in Temple, Texas. Anyway medicare covered pretty much everything in the month's time he was in hospital, and I had an AARP supplemental insurance too. The total bill was well over $10,000 and most was covered. I think I might have paid $500 and in the end got a few dollars back. A few claims were denied because they filed them too late. Hospice delivered mattress pad, O2 machine, tubing etc and put in claim almost a year later for over $1,000. worth of merch and or service. Well they never serviced anything... So I think Lord was watching out for me as I was so clueless back then. LOL>.. Jolene Barbara Gari wrote: > How old is your mom. She must be on social security? I am 62 and > just went on disabiliy.
