Guest guest
I made it to my oncologist appt yesterday morning. Only thing is he was not there:) Guess he got called home with a family emergency and someone was having to be rushed to the hospital. So instead I got to talk to two other Dr's who both admitted they had not looked over my charts or records. I did get blood work done and am suppose to be notified Thurs of when my Pet/CT scan will be. As I told them I don't think my insurance will ok this. I had a Pet in March and CT in May so I would not fault them if they did not but these Dr said they will argue with the insurance company. I take it they want to use their new machine. Here comes more radiation but then what choice do I have? I think since I told them I would not be seeing my previous colon surgeon again they want to start over. One did agree that where the spot has showed up twice on Pet is very good place for scar tissue around the staple area. They did ask if I wanted the biopsy done there or closer to home and I told them I wanted it done there. I went to the Wilmont Cancer Center which is part of University of Rochester and I think I made the right choice. I did not think I would find out much today but I know when I went to the oncologist there last year he gave me much encouragement but he had gone over all my scans and records. I guess I found out even less then expected. I even told them when this was over if I did not have cancer again I wanted a balloon stretch of the rectum and they said it was a good idea when I explained the problem to them. My previous surgeon would just laugh and say they don't work. Hil
