Guest guest
Hi all Well, we went down to Pittsburgh yesterday. They took Phil down almost 2 hours late but they were able to find the problem right away. It was a hair thin artery that was leaking chemo from the liver pump into Phil's stomach causing his ulcer. So they did laproscopic surgery to insert an even thinner coil into the artery to essentially block it's ability to leak chemo. The doctor feels that the back pain is caused by the artery and ulcer being so close to many nerves. We are hoping that now that things are fixed the pain will subside. It has really made Phil quite uncomfortable. With everything in repair the liver pump can be used again and who knows maybe he really will lick this thing! As always we thank all of you for your prayers and support. Phil, Narice Dan & Tim May
Guest guest
Well is great they found the problem and lets hope that does the trick. Maybe the back pain will let up some too. If they really wanted to or you if you suggest it, they can send you to a pain clinic that would deaden the nerves in his back a bit. How much I don't know, but they can to marvelous things. Richie had arthritis in his neck, or so they said and they suggested pain clinic. They gave him some killer shots (hurt worse than neck pain) but once they took effect he didn't have pain for several months. I sometimes felt he enjoyed the attention just abit too much.. LOL He had several repairs on his gall bladder, and nephrectomy incisions for hernias. He just enjoyed himself too much when he went in for surgery. LOL... He loved to flirt with nurses and was a model patient (for them anyway,LOL) Thoughts and prayers for you and Phil.... Guest guest
That's really good news! I sure hope this takes care of the pain he's been having. Pain makes griping congregation members that much harder to deal with. ;-) Here's to the power of prayer! Cliff H. > > > > > > > Hi all > Well, we went down to Pittsburgh yesterday.
