He MRI results (as compared to 12/03 and 9/04) showed sligh increases in the size of his peritoneal mets (largest from 8 cm to 10 cm) and they found another smaller met in the mid-abdomen near the transverse colon (about 2 cm). The lung mets are the same. His Onc says that my dad's tumors seem to be slow growing so that's good news. His liver, kidneys, etc. are fine. My dad has been experiencing more abdominal pain near his right side where the mets are. Is there anything medications or anything that we can do to help reduce the protein levels in his urine??? I am praying this protein level decreases so he can re-start Avastin treatment again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Have a nice July 4th weekend. Hi Nickie!!! I was away for a long wkn, so just now responding, but just wanted to say that sometimes a week or two " chemo vacation " really helps the body heal and get stronger for the next treatment. Don't worry...until you absolutely have to!!! Hoping the pain in the abdomen has subsided some for your Dad...Still Praying for you and your Dad!! Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle Caregiver to Glenn

Guest guest
Maybe lay off the protein foods and stick with fruits veggies and carbs until it goes down. Is protein in the urine a sign of diabetes or hypoglycemia?
Guest guest
All I can think of is that is drinks alot of water and other electrolyte building fluids to flush out the protein. I don't know of anything that would work. Just taking break from chemo will help. They could reduce the dosage somewhat to avoid the build up of protein... Be thinking about you all and keeping you in my prayers. Hope all gets better soon. Jolene > > > His Onc says that my dad's tumors seem to be slow > growing so that's good news.
