Guest guest
If you want to suggest nappies to her tell her to look at www.twinkletwinkle.co.uk Miranda sells a hugh range and has great advice. If you wanted to buy her some fitted nappies to start her off how about, 1x tots bots nappy and 1x daisy diaper nappy along with with a rikki or an air rikki wrap - all excellent nappies and wraps and good for containing new born squirty bottoms!! She wants to try cloth nappies this time around, especially >since she'll have two in nappies for a while and is cringing at the >mounds of paper and plastic she'll be throwing away. > >What are the 'best' nappies and/or wraps for a newborn? I'd like to encourage her and am already thinking of >getting her a bucket and some tea tree oil to get her started. Oh but that might start her off down the soaking route and if she's got a toddler and has just given birth I wouldn't want to be encouraging her that way :-))))) A conventional nappy bucket will be too small for two in nappies. But if you can find one of those nice dustbin style bins in a bright colour that might be nice. I bought Motherease one sizes for friends with newborns. I have to say I am not entirely sure they have been used - as yet :-( But at least then if they take a while to get going, they will not be outgrown (and your friend can use them on both children) I also had newborn fleece wraps in moon and stars design made (Vicki might be able to help you out with something special - she has a nice paw print design). Or any of the velcro fastened multi fit nappies - if the baby weighs 8lb or more, those should be fine (eg I used Earthwise from birth, mine were 9lb plus). If you want something newborn sized in a nappy Sam I Am bunny print nappies are terribly pretty and seem to attract oohs and aahhs. (I think this is a great idea - especially if you buy something she might baulk at for a utility purchase for herself if she's not tried them ie the more expensive types, maybe organic if that would mean anything to her BUT was her other baby born in the same season? I wasn't going to buy any more clothes for my second, but was very glad that a Tesco special offer of bodysuits tempted me - hadn't used them much in the first weeks previously but it was very hot when was born and he often needed to wear a body suit and nothing else) (Another suggestion is to buy matching outfits for both boys. I developed a *serious* weakness for taking them out in matching outfits - mine are the same age apart.) -- jennifer@... Vaudin

I weakened in (Cribbs Causeway) last week and bought matching navy cotton outfits - and they were complimented all the day at the Christening we went to - even my hard to please Nana was impressed. When they were younger they often matched top to bottoms - now 7,5 + 1 they often have matching tops. My Sister in law always knits matching ones for me if she can or manages a theme amongst the jumpers. Trisha SAHM to 3 boys

I use a big bucket with a tight-fitting lid, but none of the plasticky stores seemed to have ones with good lids today. I went into Mothercare and was shocked at how tiny the nappy pail was. That would never do - I even fill our big one in two days with only one child! > But at > least then if they take a while to get going, they will not be > outgrown (and your friend can use them on both children) I was looking at the one-size nappies, especially. As you say, both boys can wear them and if my friend doesn't dive in right away, they won't be too small. I think I'll get two air-rika wraps, too, since they are my current favorite. > If you want something newborn sized in a nappy Sam I Am bunny print > nappies are terribly pretty and seem to attract oohs and aahhs. She has a starter pack of these, but I don't know if they're the bunny ones. I saw those on the web and was oohing and aahing myself Thanks, and Joanne for all the suggestions Phyllis
Guest guest
I once dressed the 3 boys in matching Mr. Bump outfits when we went to Legoland. It was a Godsend, because we lost DS2 twice and each time he was returned to us promptly because staff recognised who he belonged to. Alison matching > outfits - mine are the same age apart.) Not sure my DH would notice that two outfits were the same especially if they were different colours! http://www.foxstitch.co.uk/
