Hard isn't it? My DH is normally away fro my birthday, Valentine's day and

our anniversary. I'm getting used to it now!

Ditto.

It's been that way for so long that we don't do the regular

celebrations. It was a few days after my birthday last year that Grae

finally picked up the phone and called me from halfway round the

world. It was mid-morning in March before I phoned him and wished him

Happy Wedding Anniversary and for a change we'd slept in the same bed

the previous night! Yes, he'd forgotten it too.

Of course, I'm always there for his birthday - it's Christmas Day

which has its own complications!

I've got used to DH being away for important days, with him working

offshore. I even had to buy my own birthday card one year! And this

year he will be away for Christmas - I've lost count of the number of

xmases he's been away for, over the 14 years of offshore work. Its

more than half, unfortunately!!
