Guest guest
I have a friend whose sister had a baby Sunday before last. The midwife who attended her at the birth went down with gastric flu and gave it to mother who in return gave it to baby. Mother is having difficulties getting back to " normal " (loss of appetite only seems to manage a little toast each day) and they have had baby in hospital because she was that ill with the G flu.. Mother then went in to and 2 day's ago decided to stop breastfeeding (I get the feeling she was not given a lot of advice as to what would happen to baby if she kept on the way things where) HOWEVER (I do have a point ;o) ).. last night she was (mother) again admitted to hospital and my friend had a call from her mother at midnight saying that her sister was haemorrhaging.. (sp?) sister is home again today (so I would have thought that it was not a haemorrhage?) but has been put on antibiotic's they have had a check (I assume a scan) and have told her that her uterus have not been contracting Also there still is a lot of stuff in her uterus and they have told her she can either take the antibiotic's and then get rid of it " naturally " or she can have a d&c when they told her about the d&c they also told her that this would mean she had a risk of becoming infertile but nothing about how big a risk and no one sat down and talked all this through with her.. Now does anyone know the risk's for fertility with a D&C? So far what I have recommended they do is that they contact her local nct branch (so they can help her find someone who can talk her through all this that is happening) and I have told her they need to get her to EAT (obviously not eating is not a good idea) my friend said apparently she doesn't feel she can stomach anything so I suggested clear chickensoup just to get her started.. I also said that they needed to make sure that her hv will keep a good eye on her as the way things are going and the little information she is getting I can see her feeling very out of her debt... IS there anything else you can suggest that may be a good idea for her to do?? Baby is now doing better (having got over the gastric flu) but mother obviously is not doing well at all (and baby is only 12 days old...) Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already.
