I HATE COOKING

fortunately DH likes it so does a good part of it - phew!

Feel I am letting the side down as I am a SAHM but I don't think I will ever

like it.

I can never invite people round to dinner as a result. DH has done Sunday

lunches though.

I am a real Jewish mother, always cooking for an army. But I hate

having to make things fancy and use thousands of serving dishes. This

Sabbath we have visitors tonight and tomorrow for dinner and lunch.

Tonight a widowed friend of mine and her 3 kids (teenaged and above)

who eats with us very often, especially when we are in Jerusalem and

who has in fact bought herself a flat just round the corner from our

house there so she can be close

at times we are both there. I will have to make things medium-fancy

but I don't mind that too much. She herself is a very elegant cook.

Then tomorrow we have my BIL and his two teenaged kids as my SIL (a

high flying head teacher just about to take over the headship of a new

girls grammar school) is in NY looking at schools there. They won't

mind *how* I serve it, I can throw the food at them, so long as it

tastes good! not that I would.

Regarding IRC, I can't actually recommend the channels I sit on, I am

there from habit, and one of them has deteriorated a lot, and is full

of teenagers talking about sex. The one civilised channel is a

breakaway one from that channel and is called #mousemat. If I am on

IRC at all, you could find me on there, and it's quiet and civilised

but not many people.
