Guest guest
DDI Hair Test results I did in September indicates Hg toxicity. With only three elements going above 50% line it meets counting rule no.1 (all low pattern). I started chelating with DMSA this January (removed amalgams a month before) on every 4 hrs three days a week schedule, and added ALA in June (12mg each every 3 hrs). Had some good results, some bad. What is confusing to me is that my first two tests did not show deranged mineral transport. The first one done in February showed lead in yellow and very low lithium, while the second done in May showed normal lead and 3 elements in read (low) which is one short of counting rule no.3 Isn't it that with chelation Hair test results should get better? Have you heard of anybody having similar pattern? Have their results got better later on? I was thinking that maybe chelation has caused redistribution of mercury to areas where it can be detected by Hair test. Does this make any sence? Your comments will be highly appreciated. Also is it likely that lead disappears so fast? It might be artifact of hair treating agent. If so should I disregard lead as a problem? Eventually, but it doesn't generally happen that quickly. Give yourself a couple of years, at least, before you expect mineral transport to look more normal. From what I have seen, it is not uncommon for mineral transport to look more deranged this soon after starting chelating. The best thing you can do to normalize the hair test is keep chelating for a long time. > Have you heard of anybody having similar pattern? Have their results > got better later on? No, it doesn't work that way. Your best measure of redistribution is symptoms. If you are having excessive symptoms, then try reducing the dose. Make sure you are taking all the necessary supplements and keep working on your supplement program to address symptoms. Andy does not recommend serial hair tests because they will only confuse you. Mineral transport may not normalize for a long time. > Also is it likely that lead disappears so fast? It might be artifact > of hair treating agent. If so should I disregard lead as a problem? Lead is used in some hair color formulas. You can absorb lead by using these, I believe. So I would not disregard lead as a problem. Even if your hair lead goes down, you need to keep chelating with DMSA for a long time to get all the lead because it keeps coming out of the bones and out of your brain. Read the information about lead in both books and under " other heavy metals " in the Andy_Index: http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/ANDY_INDEX.html http://www.noamalgam.com http://www.noamalgam.com/hairtestbook.html --
