Guest guest
I did a 2-evening resus course of babies/children with the Red Cross (e.g. 2 subsequent Wednesdays). Our HVs gave us the local contact details, cos every parent always asked them about 1st aid. They covered a wide range - common ailments, what if your child can`t keep anything down, what to put in a first aid kit (for hols etc), - plus re-sus practice using a medical 'dolly'. Spookily, between the first and second class, DD1(9 mths old) had her first febrile convulsion. I had no idea what was happening to her (as we were doing febr convulsions in week 2!) but I surprised myself by my instinctive reactions using the skills we had gone through in week 1. The second session included a very emotional debrief, once I had had time to think about what had happened.
