Even though someone may have an abnormality the other 25 or so are normal and therefore useable for ranges. The abnormal levels are removed by a statistical process. Results 2-3 standard deviations from the mean are not included in the mean. This process is used by all laboratories in setting normals for all analytes. There may be local situations such as Japan whose hair may have greater mercury and selenium than usual. We use " normal people " in the initial set up of the test to see if the results make sense. During this early process we also compare our results with other laboratories to see if our analytical results match with their results. We also have flow charts to detect any analytical trends. When we are inspected by our government they check these trends and also how well we perform on our quarterly measurement of samples. This is how quality control and quality assurance works and is the same in all USA licensed laboratories. Here is my information: I live in Sedona, AZ. In the middle of August, I finished the last removal of 14 amalgam fillings and one crown which was over an amalgam. Also, in May I quite using a 12 hour nose drop spray when I found out it had Thermisol in it. As well, I had four allergy shots a week for 10 years and I just discovered that they contained Thermisol. For years I have had allergies and yeast infections. As time progressed, I suffered from " Foggy brain " and hypoglycemia. Recently my ears have started ringing and now as well I have lack of concentration and an ache in my lower back and the back of my neck. Sometimes it feels like someone is pushing on my brain. The Hail analysis was done one month after the amalgam was removed. I had already started B1, B6, B12, as well as Zinc and Milk thistle. Also I am taking Vit E and sometimes a Calcium/Mag citrate...but I slack on this one. As well, I had increased my Vit. C. When I sent the hair in, I had done only one round of DMSA (every 4 hours) 25mg per. Later, I felt that that was making me sick and lowered my dose to 12.5 mg. The test is measured in ppm Thank you,

Also, I just started Lamictol to help with the > ringing in my ears...does anyone know if DMSA can bond with medications? Hi Kat, I would really encourage you to get a DDI hair test. This one is most confusing as it does not give exact figures for levels (just ranges). You will need to compare your hair tests in about 1-2 years and you'll be glad you did a DDI then. With that in mind I can see the following: High mercury and arenic as well as mixed metal retention of many different metals. The chelation protocol will address these all. So you are on the right track there. It would seem like you have adrenal problems (High Ca and Mg, and low Na and K) and are in the exhaustion phase according to Dr Eck. However, without proper ranges you cannot work out proper ratio's and therefore cannot be sure. I don't know why they don't give proper measurements? You are likely to have adrenal and thyroid problems based on this crude measurement system. With all the highs and lows of the essential minerals it suggests deranged mineral transport. You should supplement: *Molybdenum - 1000mcg/day *Chromium and Vanadium to help with blood sugar control (? dosages? *Manganese: because you have tinnitus (ringing ears), which is a sign of low manganese. It is also common with gut absorption problems. Take 5-15mg for 3 *months and be on the look out for signs of too much manganese (see hair test book). *Selenium - 200-400mcg in the selenio- form. And possibly limit copper foods/supplements (? list). Best I can do with this format. DeanSA
Guest guest
What lab did this test? I don't think we can apply the counting rules, since it doesn't look like one of the labs for which Andy has developed rules. It is odd that they don't present a numeric result - they only show the normal range and if the result is below or above it. If it is a reliable lab with reasonable reference ranges (I have no idea), then you need to chelate mercury, lead, and arsenic. The Ca/Mg/Na/K levels are suggestive of adrenal and thyroid problems. Ca and Mg typically move contrary to body burden - so high means you are deficient. Cu is medium high - if that corresponds to yellow on a DDI test (I guess it does), then it is not a problem. If you are not taking molybdenum, you could use it - 1,000 mcg. Chromium is worth considering if you have blood sugar problems. If you haven't tried manganese for ringing in the ears, it may be worth a try since it appears to be quite low. I would use a small amount, maybe 5 mg, and see if it helps - if you have any problems, drop it. If you haven't tried selenium, I suggest doing so as it is a recommended supplement (use selenomethionine). Again, I don't know what lab it is and whether it is reliable. I am making suggestions based on the assumption that they are reliable and their reference ranges are reasonable ones. I am taking the L results to correspond to red low on a DDI test, the H to be red high, and MH to be yellow high. No problem with taking Lamictal and DMSA at the same time. -- > > > > > > The following are me Hair test results... > > >
