Guest guest
Please proceed with great caution. More to loose than gain. I belong to a group ( private ) of professional aquatic plant people. One newbi wrote in complaining about poor service from one company where he bough some equipment. The lawsuit from the company that found this has been going on for almost a year now. Fortunately there are enough members with money, and others donating plants to the defense fund, that we still have the list. The way it is going, and the people involved, it could end up being a Supreme Court decision when all is said and done. Lets face it, men that routinely spend thousands on one planted aquarium without batting an eye, can afford to fight this. If anyone wants so search the archives of this group to see if what I am saying is true, it is through Actwin. But you will be reading a minimum of 50 posts a day for the last year. BUT...I do not feel this is something this list could weather. Many of us have had income problems since becoming ill, and I for one do not want to but our list owners in the potential stressful situation. ( as much as I agree that such a Wall of Shame would save newbies and oldies alike a lot of time and suffering ) The only solution I know of is to end up with enough steady members here, in each state, and do as I have done, by being careful even in my private messages, in trying to help another here in the area avoid my Stupidendo. -Pam L-
Guest guest
And while I am still stuck with this idea. And the phrase 'Loose Lip Sink Ships' is running through my mind...think of this... All we would need would be ONE new hyper person to join, have a bad experience, and then proceed to print out this Wall of Shame, and think getting us shut down is a good idea. Hummm, anyone think of who might enjoy doing this ??? -Pam L-
Guest guest
Pam You make excellent points, and I'm sure Pam B. knows this as well. Since she and I both run Graves websites outside of the group. I get alot of email from that site, and one just recently that ended in somewhat of a disaster. I am ALWAYS careful about what I say, I limit my comments to basic facts and preface advice by saying I AM NOT A DOCTOR. Still, this is a touchy subject, and one that could ultimately come back and haunt us here if we are not careful. The thing that I try to remember is that I want to help people but people can be awful. It's always better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for reminding us though. You are right, we have neither the income or the energy to deal with something like that, and I hate to think of our list going away, ever, for any reason.
