Guest guest
< > My friends got that fed up with people ringing to ask have you had it yet (why do people do that I mean you ring close friends and your parents??) that they put a message on the answer phone saying NO we have NOT had the baby yet if you are ringing for anything baby related then please hang up now if you are ringing for other reasons please leave a message. they then screened every single call. When she did go into labour (12 days overdue) they had a different message it was the music Hallelujah and over it the dh was saying X went into labour at 3 am this morning waters broke at 5 am and we set of to the hospital will let you know once baby has arrived ;o).. (I actually heard this message as I rang them on a different matter but it was such fun ;o) ) After baby had arrived they put a new message on saying baby Y arrived and weighed ;o) saved them a lot of trouble I think... Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already.

Guest guest
> Did she think we weren't going to call her or something?! Probably! My MIL was so desperate to know, that DH phoned her at 12.15am to let her know that she had *just* had a new grandson. By 7.30am when he started phoning his siblings at what he thought was the earliest decent hour so as not to disturb everyone, she had beaten him to it and had told absolutely everyone for him - he was livid - it was HIS news to tell, our first child, (her 6th grandchild) and she totally stole his thunder. Next time (if there ever is one) she'll be last on the list, and it's her own selfish fault. Ruth
Guest guest
< > Mysister did something similar when Eloisa was born. I had not been able to get through to my mother as shehad left for work but my sister arrived home earlier and saw I had tried calling so obviously she rang me and I told her everything. My mother came home and saw that I had rung but for some unknown reason (to me anyway) decided to ring my sister who told her EVERYTHING.. I felt completely deflated when my mother rang and said congratulations on the girl I knew it would be another girl.. that was MY NEWS NOT my sisters and next time she will be told to keep her mouth shut until I have told everyone. really did bug me (but then again so did the fact that my mother let her tell her) Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... ( My mother was looking after DD1 at home. ) She said not to ring her till the morning as she didn't want to be woken in the night, fair enough but in the event she got a call around 9:30 that evening (she though he was calling to say something had gone wrong!!!!!) as Dh didn't feel it was fair to wait till 8 the next morning, by which time her new GD would have been nearly 12 hours old! When I went into labour with DS2 my Mum set off from Somerset to come up to Northumberland to help out for the first week. DS2 was born while she was still on the train so, knowing what a worrier she is, my Dad got the station announcers to announce the birth while her train was stopped in every station from Birmingham northwards. She never heard it though, and was practically having kittens of her own when DH picked her up from Morpeth station. Guest guest
I wish I'd thought of this, was born 15 days early and my parents were at the theatre, we ended up leaving a message on their answerphone as I hadn't wanted to tell them I was in labour before they left. I should have phoned the National and asked them to announce it at the end of the show.
