Guest guest
BJ... the procedure is, your pulmodude will make a referral and ins is paying for me since UW is in network for me. I have Regence BCBS Med Advantage. Of course that means Medicare is paying. With your referral goes records, scans, x-rays, anything current and pertinent. Or anything else they may request. When it's all rec'd, then you are given an appt. Dr Raghu has no opening until the summer schedule "comes down" for appts. I have no idea WHAT it is...I'm on the waiting list and will be given an appt later. Hope the sale of your house goes smoothly. When you get closer this way we'll see if we can meet sometime. I just talked to her yesterday, she had a knee replacement and thinking about getting the other one done. She has been really busy and tired and hasn't had time to deal with all the Emails generated by the group because she can't sit down in front of the computer for very long. I explained the Digest format that is available to us and told her I really liked it better than all the individual Emails, because I have trouble sitting in front of the computer also. She is missing the group and is planning on posting again in a couple weeks and switching to the Digest format. Right now she has company from out of town, so I told her if I don't see her post--I will be calling her and bugging her about it..
Guest guest
Sher i sort of feel like you at times - going out with the portable can be a real pain in the behind now that i frequently use it on continuous, it doesn't last as long, baseball season is starting in two weeks, my concern is taking enough O2 with me to last the evening last year i used both the helios and m6 tanks, this year i just have the helios and marathon there are a few m6 tanks left over if i want more of them, i have to pay about $10 per tank since medicare will not pay for both liquid and green tanks plus now my lpm's are higher than last year sometimes it is easier to stay home getting the o2 ready reminds of going places with a baby and all of the stuff needed for the baby Pink Joyce IPF 3/06 Pennsylvania Donate Life Listed 1/09 www.transplantfund.org--- Subject: Re: Hi SherTo: Breathe-Support Date: Friday, March 20, 2009, 12:19 PM ...that is a coincidence. ...when you speak again please tell Terri I inquired about her. Hope you and Dakota remain well and happy. Well your wife too of course. Rich and I were thinking (just a little bit) about going to Sun City AZ. Rich has relatives there and we thought about maybe getting to meet a few members along the way but we haven't made much in the way of a decision. By the time we drag my cpap and concentrator and portable I get an "Oh hell with it attitude". I know this may spur Bruce especially to say, 'get out there', but remember guys, we're in our 70s and travel does get harder. I'm waiting now to see when my appt will be in place at UofWMC in Seattle. Should be Aug or Sept. They have rec'd all records now and just waiting for Dr Raghu's A/S schedule to open up. Guest guest
I plan on living in either Port Orchard or Gig Harbor. Gig Harbor is more expensive but that is where my daughter is. I have a son in Port Orchard but he works and couldn't help me as much as my daughter could. She might have to drive me to doctor appointments if they are in Tacoma or Seattle. I won't drive there. They are also building a hospital in Gig Harbor due to open soon. Port Orchard doesn't have one. BJ Hi Sher I'ts funny you asked about Terri P. Guest guest
BJ... I did miss the post... I'm crossing my fingers for a good sale. I guess it's not doable for your daughter to come to you and help you move. I'm sure you thought of that. Gosh BJ you just can't do that move alone. I don't mean to be intrusive but can you hire help or can your kids hire help? Often high school boys are looking for work. Or now, grown men need the work! Please don't do that by yourself! It's just too much for women of our 'delicate persuasion'. ;o) I can't tell from your post... are you using O2 when you away from home? If not that sure could be dragging you down. With my limited knowledge of prednisone (Hey, MB...give us a hand here) I think it gives you energy. At least at some level. Maybe the dosage has something to do with it... I think you know when you are "progressing" BJ... being 'tired' after being out may not be progression... Talk to your dr about your meds/O2 and what fears your sister has for you. You could call the Police Dept and inquire about the incident....let's hope that gives you confidence! Do take care now! MamaSher; 70, IPF 3-06, OR. I did notice that you hadn't been posting and I mentioned it to my wife, but we have had my son, DIL, and 2 grandkids (2 & 5 yrs. old), with us for the last 12 days and I haven't been on the computer other that 10 minutes, 3 different days. My butt is dragging trying to be involved in the activities and I do feel very tired all the time----only three more days and they will be going back to Olympia, Wa. My last visit to the Dr. (April 6th) I did my PFTs and everything is exactly the same except for my DLCO---it has dropped from 55% down to 49%. In the last 10 months it has dropped from 68% to 49%, so needless to say it is starting to make me nervous. What has been going on with you? You have usually been the "rock" of the group? Hope everything is OK and we can contribute it to the weather? I did hear you talking about going to the U of W medical hospital for an evaluation? I just talked to my Dr about checking at the U of W for a transplant evaluation, so I may go there also, but I don't know when. Tell Rich hi and hopefully I will be making the trip up to Washington again and I can meet up with you guys again. Hope you get better and back to posting!!!!!!!!! G. Guest guest
... I love New England. My Lysa was born in Burlington, VT but I am a native Oregonian and glad to be in OR. I can empathize with the death of your husband. My former husband was killed by a drunk driver in the mid 80s. I know it's been tough for you, alone with two kids and especially raising one with special needs... I could go on a tirade over insurance; medical costs, co-pays, premiums, Rx, and yet "not qualified" when we apply for medical help.. Our medical was 12k last year if you can imagine and we could rip clothing on the fence that separates us from "qualified". We have no choice but to just keep paying and eventually we will run out of savings. THEN we can qualify. ;o) I am so glad you have coverage! It's harder when there are little ones or teens in the home. Now I'm 70 and Rich is 78. Our home is gone and our savings quickly dwindling. I said I could go on a tirade. Aren't you glad I didn't? ;o) MamaSher; 70, IPF 3-06, OR. NasturtiumsDon't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Hi Sher> > > > > > Sorry to hear you have been so sick.
