<<'Thank you God for giving us Brown Owl so that she would

take us on pack holiday' >>>

That is just so cute and sweet ;o)

My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you

start.

So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake.

I feel better already.

Welcome back - it is so nice to be up to date with emails isn't it?

Only then I get impatient, waiting for the next few to come through.

I was close to tears when one of my brownies said 'Thank you God for

giving us Brown Owl

I used to be an " Owl " , Snowy Owl to be precise. Before I started

working with girls (I run a Rainbow Guide Unit now) I was a Cub Scout

Leader " Hathi " . One of the more endearing things said once was this;

Cub - (innocently) " Hathi, have you had a stroke? "

Hathi - (suprised but amused) " No, , why do you ask?

Cub - (Seriously) " But...but I thought ALL old people had had

strokes?!...

Hathi (Taken aback) *!???**!! (silently!!)

Don't they just - coincidentally I took my Rainbows to our local Fire

Station last Tuesday evening. They were wonderful and let the girls

play with a hose and clamber all over a fire engine. At the end, the

young fire-fighter (who had drawn the short straw obviously!) who had

shown them around asked for any questions, whereupon a particularly

forward little Miss dashed up to him, kissed him and asked if she

could marry him!! I'm not sure who was more embarrassed, me or him!

Still, he did explain patiently that he was already married, much to

the amusement of his colleagues, they were cat-calling and blaming

his (lack of) height for the girls' attentions! Great fun..

Many congratulations, As an xbrown owl who did the training weekend for

this, but never actually ran a pack holiday (DD1 came along) I have an idea

of the work involved. Well Done.

When the girls are old enough to come along and join in I'd love to go back

to Guiding (its really odd walking into a craft shop and walking out with 1

of something not 24). If only DH was reliably back from work to baby sit,

but he isn't :-(
