Guest guest
Last day of being on round of 25 mg DMSA per dose every 4 hours. GI symptoms are a lot better. I got some Probiotic VSL#3. It's worked good in the past. And this time I noticed signifcant changes. A lot less gas, less achy feeling, more normal stools, in all a lot better. Though perhaps the Arginine + Lysine helped as well. I'm pretty sure that the majority of brain fog has gone away. That pressure behind the eyes isn't around much anymore either. I think my body temperature is coming up some now, used to be pretty low. Also see more color in my face. I'm also remembering my dreams more than in the past and don't wake up feeling like I could sleep all day. I'm looking forward to the ALA, but have to wait 2 more months now. Not that much longer I suppose. Curious as to what I should do for the next round. I could bump it up more, from say 25 mg to 37.5 mg. Or I could start to make my time on a dose be longer, by adding a couple of days or more to both the on and off dose. Any thoughts as to which way to go? Thanks, Mike > > Done with the 3rd round. That could mean many rounds at the same dose until the symptoms vanished. And these symptoms were mild in the first place, because I made sure the dose was low enough not to cause too many problem. The damage that can be done by increasing to fast is not worth it. During my chelation I did make that mistake a few times. You're still getting a lot of mercury out at the lower dose, and you are doing it safely. Side-effects also tend to come on with subsequent rounds at the same dose. At the bare minimum I would do is three rounds on the same dose before considering increasing it. You are really looking at a minimum of 18 months chelation. So just take it slow. Guest guest
Chicago Dean here agreeing with SA Dean that 3 rounds at a dose before going up sounds like an excellent idea. It's hard to be patient, but in chelation haste really does make waste. People who go too fast get side effects, have to stop, wonder if they should start again, don't until they spend weeks or months doing more research, etc. You really do go fast by going slow. And yes, 18 months at least. I've heard from a doc experienced with Andy's protocol that it's never taken him more than 4 years with even the worst cases. And he starts out really low - 1 mg DMSA and 1 mg ALA to start. With the most poisoned patients, one-tenth that dose. Personally, I plan to chelate for the rest of my life (I'm 55) I had a mouth full of amalgams for over 40 years, so even if I get to the point of being asymptomatic, I believe there's probably plenty more mercury in my body that would be better off out of there. After all, I only developed symptoms a few years ago, so I must have been riddled with the stuff for years before it became apparent. So symptom-free doesn't necessarily mean mercury-free. Andy says to chelate 6 months after your symptoms are gone, but I see no reason not to do a round every month or two on an ongoing basis. Guest guest
Thanks Jackie and both Deans! I am one of those folks who get impatient and go too hard at something and either get hurt or burn out. So the talk to take it easy is something I know I should listen to. So round 5 will be at 25 mg again. Which is also good news as it means no pill splitting. I'll see how the next round goes and if it is good then I'll extend it from 3 to 5 or so days on and then the same number off. And to answer your question Jackie. ----------Glad you are seeing improvements. I'm not familiar with VSL#3. What company is it from, and what does it contain?-----------Jackie This is the website where you can learn more and purchase it. http://www.vsl3.com/VSL3/default.asp This is one of the probiotics that is most used in studies on probiotics and its effects on health. I had taken it once before with good results, though it didn't seem to " take " and the bacteria that was causing me issues came back. Thinking I have some motility or other issue that's not helping my body keep the overgrowth at bay. Anyway, thanks everyone for the advice.
