Penkalski S. Penkalski, 58, of Wattsburg Rd., died Friday, August 26, 2005, at his residence. He was born in Erie on May 3, 1947, a son of the late Sigmund and Frances Biggie Penkalski. Mr. Penkalski graduated from St. Grade School and Strong High School. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed in the warehouse at International Paper for 35 years. He was an active member of St. Boniface Church, its Music Ministry and Folk Group, and volunteered at its Food Pantry. He taught music and operated the Library at the School for two years. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of Local 620 United Paper Makers. He was troubadour for Cursillo Movement. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, A. Empey Pankalski of Venango Twp.; two sisters, Marilyn Mead and Jeanne Burns, both of Erie; his godfather, ph Biggie; a brother-in-law, Empey, wife Cheryl of Erie; a step-in-law, Harry Cosper, wife Carol of Erie. Several aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call at the A. Brugger & Sons Funeral Home, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38 St., Sunday 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and may attend the Funeral Mass at St. Boniface Church on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials suggested to Erie Cursillo Movement, 204 West 6th Street, Erie PA 16507, or St. Boniface School, 9363 Wattsburg Rd., Erie PA 16509.
