Like you, I've really only seen the commercials on tv. I knew one lady who went

there. She really loved it. Unfortunately, her case was so terribly far gone by

the time they knew what it was, she didn't make it.

The closest one to us was in Oklahoma. Towards the last, her husband would fix

up a bed in the back of the campershell pickup to take her there for care. She

believed that deeply in what they were doing.

I do believe it is worth checking out.

I will have a candle lit in every room of the house on Monday for Glenn:)

What, if anything, do you guys know about this place??? All we know is

what we see in the commercials on TV...

Glenn called after seeing a commercial on Monday and went through the

" interview " .... he asked if he had to eat broccoli....and she laughed and

said

no...received a call back the next day that his insurance would pay.... We

are

waiting for a " package " in the mail....

Guess this means Glenn is not finished fighting!!! Surgery is Monday, Aug.

29th, so we're gearing up for that!!

Donnelle,

I had an uncle that went to Zion, IL to no avail. He had progressed lung

cancer plus more and felt that all that CTC had done was pump some vitamins in

him. This was about 20 years ago. I talked to my colon surgeon about it for

me. He begged me not to go. He said that he has dealt with the aftermath of

some of their malpractice cases. My surgeon is at Emory University Hospital.

Where are you located? I can ask him for some references.

I know this sounds negative compared to their commercial and their website but

it is all I know. Maybe someone has some good info to provide.

You guys will be in my thoughts and prayers on Monday more than ever!!

Donelle,

I know Joe was going to go through this place , and opted to go locally because

he just didnt wanna be that far away from home ,

However I do have to say that these folks STILL CALL us to see how Joe is doing

, EVEN though we never went there. In my opinion thats pretty nice.

Prayers are with yall , will be thinking of you especially hard on Monday

I've always wondered about that place. Please let us know how it goes.

So far, , the feedback we are getting from everyone we've asked is not

real good...Glenn's GI Dr. (who is not associated with s Hopkins) told

Glenn that Cancer Centers of America " prays " on end-stage patients that are at

their wits end...that's the exact words he used!!! He told Glenn that he

was at the #1 hospital in the world...with some of the best drs. in the world

and was better off staying there for any cancer treatment that might be

available after this surgery...

Several others have mentioned that they were pleased with the Center, but

not really any good results...nothing different than had they stayed where they

were for additional treatment. We're grasping at straws now...but I'm

trying desparately to keep " my " head...and guide him as best I can. I'm

thinking,

since we almost know the end result since the liver is 70% tumor and failing

already, we should spend that time together....not him running all over the

country-side... am I being selfish?? Probably...but I just would need to

hear some better feedback about the center. We'll call Onc. at JHH and see

what

he says...he's pretty upfront with us, too.
