Guest guest
Ok, so nobody got back to me on the autism-mercury board yet, and I want to ask here. From the Faq, it looks like you start with 1/8mg per pound of child. So for my 29 pound son that would be about 3.6mg of DMSA and ALA every 3 hours. How do you measure such a small amount accurately? I've never seen capsules at that small a dosage, and I don't want to give him too much at once. Thanks, - JB > > Thank you so much, Jackie! > I myself used Andy's protocol with success a couple of years ago, > after getting my amalgams removed. She just recently did a hair test, but haven't gotten the results yet. I suspect mercury could be part of her problem also. So I would like hearing more about your story, having both, and if you want, you can just email me offline.----------Jackie > > > > One more thing I'd like to ask- since he's only 2 1/2, he can't > swallow any capsules. Anyway, I believe they have a file on tips on how to get kids to take stuff. I think you can mix it in food, otherwise, I know you can mix it in an acidy juice, or something like lemonade. I believe for the night doses, some parents mix it in a small amount of juice, and use a medicine dropper and just put it in their mouth, and they naturally swallow it, some without hardly waking up.------------Jackie > > > > Also, he is 29 pounds? Generally, 1/8 to 1/2 mg per pound is recommended as starting doses, I believe. But if you join Autism-Mercury, you could ask some actual parents what they did and what worked for them. I'm not trying to get rid of you, I just think you could get some great help over there, more age appropriate.----------Jackie > > > > > I have Andy's Amalgam Illness and Counting Rules books, so if its in > there, can you just point me to the appropriate pages? > > ------------Amalgam Illness is more for adults, and many of us have found that we had to start lower than the book suggested. Andy does discuss some of this in HTI, on pages 237-239. The links to Moria's website, has the updated recommendation of 1/8 to 1/2 mg/lb. Andy says *about* 1/4 mg per pound in HTI, and then says to adjust up or down depending on side effects, so that's basically the same thing. He says don't use more than 1mg per pound.-------------Jackie > > > > > Thanks again, and other comments are, of course, welcome. > > - JB > > Messages in this topic (2) Reply (via web post) | Start a new topic > Messages > > Change settings via the Web (Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi JB, We have chelated our little one for the past 2.5 years with good results. You can purchase 25 mg capsules of Dmsa at www.vrp.com and then divide the capsule by 6 just by eyeballing the amounts on 6 post it notes. The least I have seen Ala capsules in are 100 mgs but you can check at VRP and see if you can find lower ones, but the process is the same. It's not imperative that you have EXACTLY the right amounts in each dose, but you should aim for some approximation. THE most important part is the timing of the dose, and that's every 3 hours during the day, every 4 hours at night is usally good enough as metabolism is slowed at night, but to be the absolute most safe you can stick to 3 hours day and night. We have done 3/4 and it's workable, here. Good luck, Hair test #146, Re: Andy or TK - need your help, please! re: my son's hair analy Ok, so nobody got back to me on the autism-mercury board yet, and I want to ask here. Guest guest
Yes, JB, VRP also sells ALA but would probably be in 100 mg capsules so would have to be divided by 12 or so to get your dosage, not exactly convenient, but doable. We used 100 mgs dmsa and 100 mg ala capsules to divide them into 12 or 14, whatever we needed, when we started. We're pretty math retarded so we had to keep it simple :-) We taught her to swallow capsules that we put in applesauce but we used the chelators directly in applesauce before she could swallow capsules. There is a file on A-M that gives you some ideas about what to put it in, but basically anything soft that your boy tolerates. Hair test #146, Re: Andy or TK - need your help, please! re: my son's hair analy Thanks, . Do they also offer ALA, and what have you been mixing it with to give to your child? - JB > > > > Thank you so much, Jackie! > > I myself used Andy's protocol with success a couple of years ago, > > after getting my amalgams removed.
