Missing a dose

I don't understand why I need to stop chelating if I miss a dose. I am on 50 mg

of ALA

every 3 hrs. It would seem that if I missed by one hour I would want to get

back on ala as

soon as possible to keep it in my system as to continue to help move the

mercury. Once i

stop why should it matter if I wait one hour, two hours, three...or three days?

I can see

three days on and three days off so that I can re-mineralize but I don't see why

I should

stop if i only miss an hour or two.

------------The general rule is that if you miss by 1 hour, it is ok to

continue the round, but if it's longer than that, then you are supposed to stop.

The purpose of the frequent dosing is to keep a fairly level amount of chelator

in your blood, based on the half life of whatever you're taking, so metals

actually get moved out of the body, and not just redistributed elsewhere. If

you miss a dose by more than a hour, and the longer the worse it is, your blood

levels will fluctuate too much, and this can cause

redistribution.----------Jackie

----------You use the same rule, as much time off as on. So if the missed

dose happens on day 1, just take one day off and start again. I think you want

to start with a *clean slate*.----------Jackie

----------Up to an hour, it is considered safe to continue. Beyond that, you

are risking redistribution and side effects.----------Jackie
