Guest guest
I guess I know the answer to this already but I just want to vent... Lastest test results 2002-11-25 TSH 0.6 (0.25-5.5) fT4 10.8 (9.7-25.7) Previous 2002-10-9 TSH 0.8 (0.4-4.5) fT4 12.0 (11.5-23.0) fT3 7.7 (2.3-4.9) H Even older 2002-08-16 TSH 1.5 (0.4-4.5) fT4 14.6 (11.5-23.0) fT3 4.9 (2.3-4.9) Still 50mg PTU daily in two doses. I used the NHS lab (which is effectively free as it comes out of my tax dollars (well pounds)) as I was confident that TSH would show up low, now wondering if I'd have been better paying for a profile including fT3. Anyway do you think it is reasonable to draw a trend from these figures, or do the different lab ranges for the latest test mean that any variation has to be treated as just noise? I still suffering odd hyper symptoms, although I feel a lot more alive than I have done for ages. Anyone seen a falling fT4 with rising fT3 before whilst on PTU out of interest? Guest guest
Simon, Since you are not planning on changing your PTU dose, why not try taking it in three doses the way it is supposed to be taken and see how you feel ? Reading you labs it just seems to me, from my past experience, the dosing time would make a difference for you now. With your last labs...I would feel hypo. The kind of hypo that makes me anxious and my heart would be speeding up off and on, and I would find myself having a hard time keeping track of where I put something or forgetting to turn the corner when driving till half a block after... :-) But then, I rarely had a T3 done, and my TSH never ever did go higher than ..45. Still hasn't even after being in remission. Perhaps not the words of wisdom you are looking for, but I really think you should do the three times a day dose, so I had to speak up. -Pam L - 3 1/2 yr.Graves and TED, PTU, Remission due to education, SLOW reduction of PTU, improved lifestyle, excellent nutrition, herbs, and looking at the BIG picture !
