RANT vent RANT ugh CANCER SUCKS ( mom)

Deb:

You need to get on the phone and call her oncologist today. Tell him/her

all of your mom's symptoms: the pain, diarrea, etc. That is part of their job.

They need to determine whether to give more pain meds (these are not

working and you need to tell him that), and to know for next time whether they

have

her too much. Since it is a holiday weekend, you may find another

oncologist on call. That's fine so long as you first tell them what your

mother is

being treated for; when she was given the chemo (and what was used); and then

into her symptoms. Get her some help. That's why we have oncologists!

Ok this is it , AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

As most know mom has lung cancer , not colon but I need my family here to

vent to.

Mom's first chemo was Tuesday , she has been sick since Thursday , I mean

sick , severe body pains, constipation for a day now severe diarrhea for 3

days. nothing we seem to be doing is working , she is extremely weak , she

looks

like she has aged 20yrs in 3 days .

I dont know what to do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She lays in bed and cries with pain/ over all not feeling good. Mom doesnt

cry from pain!

When I asked her if there was ANYTHING I can do for her , she said she

wanted dad , so I went downstairs to get him , he came up and I heard her

saying

to him that she was soooo sick (crying ) , to which he replied , I know your

sick , but I cant keep running up and down the stairs for you to tell me that

#$###@$ WHAT A JERK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

maybe if he would sit upstairs with her she would feel a little better!! but

no he would rather go downstairs where he cant hear

her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I realize this is hard on him , I really do , but it is sooooooooooooo much

harder on her, the LEAST HE COULD DO is be there for her

I need to get out of the house !!!!!!!!

I thought I was going to the store today , but Joe decided to take his

brother out for dinner for his birthday , so I am here, feeling USELESS , DONT

know what to do anymore .

Dad just left to go get mom some liquid imodum A.D to see if that helps with

the Diarrhea.

Something has to!! I told Dad if she isnt better in a few hours maybe we

should take her to the hospital , I am seriously worried she is becoming

dehyrdrated

found mets to the abdominal wall lining 3 lymph nodes involved

open wound from infection until Jan 2005

Ileostomy reversal Dec 7th 2004

Chemo regiment begun Jan 2005

5fu/levorican/Oxaplatin/ Avastin added Feb 14 2005 (Happy Valentines

Calcium Magnesium added for the Tingles Feb 28 2005

Ct Scan done March 23rd 2005 , 16 millimeter cyst like object on liver found

April 1 2005 PET scan done awaiting results

April 11 PET SCAN SHOWS

NED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May 9 Plateletts are low 75,000

Deb...men are such jerks sometimes, aren't they?? Can you suggest to him

that Mom needs him right now. It's such a difficult situation.

Definitely force fluids, Deb...Mom might feel 100% better with IV fluids.

Dehydration can be very, very serious...

Stay in touch...what's going on now??
