Guest guest
Poor baby. At 2 it is nearly impossible to get them to sit still. Since I have worked with little ones here is an idea you can try. If Amy is up to it have Paige come in and sit her at a table to draw pictures for Mommy. If she's looking for snuggle time tell her Mommy has to take a nap can you pat Mommy's back to help her get to sleep. Trust me she'll do it especially if you get a nurse in on it and have the nurse tell Paige she is her special helper. 2 year olds eat that up!! Guest guest
How often do the docs come a day Deb?? That is horrible, is your dad ok to help your mom when you aren't there?? Thinking of you, Peta Yes Paige will be in tomorrow to see Amy for her birthday but it will be a short visit. Amy doesn't have the energy right now to be with Paige. She finds it really difficult when Paige wants to climb all over her. Today Paige was in for a visit and she was trying to climb on Amy's bed but Amy felt really sick so she asked my mom to take Paige out of the room for a minute anf the poor little darling started crying and screaming " I WANT MY MOMMMY!!! " Breaks you heart..... Anyways, my mom, my mom's best friend and my other sister have been taking care of Paige when Amy's husband is with her at the hospital and at work. My mom or dad lives with me when I am at the hospital to take care of my baby (my husband is at work as well) and when I come home one of them goes to the hospital. Someone is always with Amy 24 hours a day. > Peta...who is watching Paige during all this?? Guest guest
Thanks Narice, That is a great idea. We actually try to plan that Paige has her nap with Amy. The snuggle together in the bed and Paige falls asleep with Amy. But we will have to try your idea!!! Sincerely Peta > Poor baby. Guest guest
Hey All Thank you again for all your notes. Deb, glad to hear your mom is doing a little better and that she is home. Donelle how is Glenn?? Amy is sleeping a lot today which is good to see her resting. The Palliative care doc came in today and told me that it is time to tell my other sis to take some time off work as things are becoming more iminent. They are slowing down the IV's for Amy as she has edema sp?? really bad. The poor thing has gone up 4 sizes in undies and they are still cutting into her skin. She is having a very difficult time breathing so she is having her right lung tapped tomorrow to give some short term relief so she can have a quick visit with her friends and Paige over the next couple of days. So sad but I don't want to see her suffer anymore. This is not quality of life......... Signing off for the night Hopefully she will sleep ok..... hugs peta

Guest guest
I just want to put my arms around you and give you a big ((((((HUG)))))). I know how difficult this is, I've been there, and it hurts so bad to see the one you love in so much misery. Sppend every moment you can with her and talk to her about the good times you've had together in the past, she will here it even if she does not respond. My prayer is that God will give Amy rest and that He will hold you and your family in His arms granting you His grace and His strength to carry you through the days ahead.
