Guest guest
Hello everyone Just got back from sleeping at the hospital. It was definately a better night than Thursday! Amy has had a rough few days and seems a small bit better today. She is on a huge amount of morphine right now that is keeping her pretty much asleep all day. She doesn't get out of bed right now and is feeling quite crummy. She was vomitting again last night but after some IV gravol she felt a bit better. She is on a lot of oxygen 24 hrs a day as she is having a very hard time catching her breath. I think she is having the chest tube removed today but the doc came in and said that all the fluid is now on the left lung. I don't think Amy will want to have the procedure done on that side though. However she surprises me every time as she wants to continue to fight! To tell you the truth I hope she doesn't, this procedure has really wiped her out and I don't know if she could handle it again. They said they could just tap her lung to provide some relief for a couple days - but they will respect whatever she decides. At this time I don't think she is ready to make any decisions. She said to my dad yesterday " Cross your fingers dad, I think I am on the mends " , and then she fell asleep. She is truly a hero - putting all she can into this fight. She is so positive and just worries about us. She doesn't know this, but yesterday my mom, dad and I went to the ER because my dad was having chest pains. He got put on blood pressure medication because his BP was really high. Can't have dad having a heart attack right now!!! Anyways, thank you all AGAIN for your continuous support and concern. Sincerely, Peta " A baby is a little piece of heaven on earth " .
