Guest guest
Hi to all-- I have been reading through the archives and remember a post from Elaine about her large tonsils. I was in the hospital today for my pre-testing and the interviewing doctor made a note on my chart that they were " acutely inflamed " . I'm fighting off head cold and cough along with everything else. I asked him if there was anything that I could do to help them, and he answered " not now " , but that I might talk to the surgeon about having them out one day. I can't imagine a more painful prospect! I remember talking to one of my doctors about this and (this was some time ago) he said that they try not to do that operation on adults as it is so bloody. My brother had his in the sixties but for some reason, I kept mine. They are truly enormous. My question is: Does anyone - Elaine? - know of any natural way to help them, shrink them, heal them short of surgery? I'm facing some gyn surgery next year and certainly hope to not have my tonsils out at this late stage! Are they even helping me anymore? Note to self: do a search on " tonsils " at some point. Thanks for reading - everyone have a good weekend and stay warm! Jan
Guest guest
It'll be a few days till I can get to this - please remind me if it takes more than that as I am currently in the throes of planning a significant b-day bash for my daughter tomorrow and will need a few days to regroup. My son got strep a few x in one year and he was put on an antihistamine regimen for a month or so to shrink his tonsils. It worked! Take care and hope you feel better soon, Fay (tonsillectomy, 1970 at age close to 6) ________________________________________________________________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month!
