What did they say ? Is he still having diarrhea? Deb Hi Deb!!! Yes...up at 5 a.m. (yawning) this morning, packing a little bag for Glenn... I was determined he was going to get there come heck or high water, so I bought Depends the other day, which he wouldn't even look at, but I put one out for him this morning and he put it on. I took a couple extra along with some BabyWipes and a small roll of toilet paper!!! He had cramps as we are walking out the door, and I'm thinking omigosh, how are we going to travel 25 miles in weekday work traffic!!! But he made it... until we got there at least. He was scheduled at 7:15 a.m. for another Sigmoidoscopy, but you know how that goes...hurry up to be there on time and then wait. They only found some small inflamations (colitis)...thank God!! The Dr. told me to put him immediately on Pepto Bismol tablets...2 every 4 hrs. and continue with the Lomotil after each movement. He also said to eat the B.R.A.T. diet. I told the Dr. I had suggested this to Glenn 3 wks. ago and he wouldn't do it...and asked him if he would tell Glenn about the Pepto and the BRAT...which he did. Leaving the place of the procedure, Glenn wanted to stop at Dunkin Donuts...well, I was driving and the car just wouldn't stop...LOL Then when we got home, he heads for the fridge to eat some Kentucky Fried Chicken....and I said, " Why don't you for 2 days just try doing what the dr. tells you for once!!! Just 2 days!!! Try It!! " I'm reprimanding like only a Mother can...LOL I fixed him some rice with a little butter and some applesauce. He ate some rice and 1 bite of applesauce. In the meantime, I went and got some Pepto Bismol and put 2 of them in his hand. I also got some bananas, AGAIN, and he ate one. So far, it's been almost 4 hrs and he has NOT gone potty yet!!! He's sleeping now. It's like getting a toddler to finally sleep when they are so tired.... When is this man gonna listen/learn???!!! Damn stubborn man!!! Dr. also told him to eat protein once he's o.k. to get some strength built back up. Sounds promising...we shall see!!! I personally think the Dr. is grasping straws with the Pepto, but we'll see. If it helps that's all that matters. I think the most important thing is the diet for a few days to get him regulated somewhat. He's still got the same inflamation he had 3 wks. ago from the anti-biotic, which started the whole thing. Dr. was very pleased with the smallness of Glenn's tummy and almost lack of fluid.... It would be so nice to have some semblance of normalcy in this house for a while... maybe we're headed that way....at least until he eats something like fried chicken or an Italian Sub or some other dumb thing that one knows is not what you should be eating right now....woe is me....LOL BTW, thanks for asking, Deb... Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle Caregiver to Glenn
