Guest guest
My son is on the following supplements, per our DAN doctor: Nu-Thera® without Vitamin A & D (1 a day) Pro-Culture Gold and Pro-Bio Gold (one each day of one and then one of the other probiotic the next day) Culturelle (I'm also rotating this in every third day, but never giving him more than 1 probiotic a day) Vitamin C (2 500mg capsules a day) Enzyme Complete with DPP-IV™ (1 capsule after every meal) L-Glutamine (1 capsule a day) Coromega (two packets a day) L-Glutathione (1 capsule a day) L-Carnitine (1 capsule a day) CoQ10 (1 capsule a day) If your kids have been on any of the above, what positive or negative reactions have you noticed. My son has recently been much more emotional, aggressive toward his 1 yo sis, more hyper and just generally harder to manage. He's normally a pretty mellow little guy, so this is a change. We're trying to figure out what's going on, and think it might be related to one or more of the supplements. This is an enzyme and should be consumed BEFORE meals, unless you are using it for other than food-intolerance issues? > > L-Glutamine (1 capsule a day) My son was " mildly " hyper on a small amount of L-glutamine. Guest guest
l-glutamine can be a problem with some kids. also thats a huge amount of vitamin c, could be stripping needed metals out of the body. better to keep the supplements simple and low dose and work from there i think. probitoics can have various effects, taking them consistently can upset stomach flora. is there a yeast problem? > My son is on the following supplements, per our DAN doctor: > > Nu-Thera® without Vitamin A & D (1 a day) > > Pro-Culture Gold and Pro-Bio Gold (one each day of one and > then one of the other probiotic the next day) > > Culturelle (I'm also rotating this in every third day, but > never giving him more than 1 probiotic a day) > > Vitamin C (2 500mg capsules a day) > > Enzyme Complete with DPP-IV™ (1 capsule after every meal) > > L-Glutamine (1 capsule a day) > > Coromega (two packets a day) > > L-Glutathione (1 capsule a day) > > L-Carnitine (1 capsule a day) > > CoQ10 (1 capsule a day) > > If your kids have been on any of the above, what positive or negative > reactions have you noticed. Guest guest
When we were dealing with the glutamine very early on, Devin said it had " excitatory " properties and it seemed to make a difference when certain kids on in (hyperness in a negative way). At the DAN conference one of the presenters mentioned how glutamine was really good for gut healing, but if the child had an adverse reaction to stop it and allow the gut to heal more before continuing. . Guest guest
> Nu-Thera® without Vitamin A & D (1 a day) My daughter is phenolic kid and P5P was a problem. Also we give much more Magnesium. > L-Glutamine (1 capsule a day) L-Glutamine in any amount caused my daughter to be very hyper. I remeber a message on this board from Davin stated that 'under certain conditions L-Glutamine gets converted to Glutamate which is no good for anybody. > L-Carnitine (1 capsule a day) My older daughter (she is not autistic) stopped using L-Carnitine after experiencing liver pain and couple other problems. Good luck.
