I have now been chelating for about 10 months, mostly DMSA.

The last 5-6 months I have tried adding ALA one several occations,

but I always end up feeling worse after a round of ALA.

Im currently on 33 mg of DMSA, and when I have tried ALA it has been

3 mg, every 3. hour.

I think I have been trough the dumping periode; felt better on rounds

than off for a periode, but now I'm worse on and the first day(s) off.

After the last round of ALA (3 days) it felt like my whole spine was

burning and I had pain in my lower back and neck. The neck was the

worst,

typical nerve inflamation with pain in both shoulders and arms. Had

to see my chiropractor, who then was convinced that this was due to

too much

mercury being stired up.

Anyone else had similar experinces ?

Since I now feel worse when on round and a day or two off, could it

bee that I need to take DMSA verey 3 hours instead of every 4 hours,

which have

been working ok until now ?

'Feeling worse' means more fategued and more muscle pain (burning),

and what feels like nerve inflamation.

TK--- body burden may still be too high, may need to take ala more

frequently 2-2.5hr or reduce dosage or stick with just dmsa for

longer period.

TK--- this would be a good thing to try - also reducing dosage if

side effects are not tollerable.

Kyrre - are you taking one or two chelators at a time?

If you are combining DMSA and ALA, I would suggest trying ALA on its own.

You should expect ALA to have very different effects, as it is removing

Hg form the brain.

Try taking your supplements with the chelator dose, every 3 hours.

Also, make sure to take vitamin C constantly to help with the oxidative

damage that occurs when the mercury is stirred up. Finally, you might

want to take some melatonin at night, as it is a brain anti-oxidant. If

you still have trouble, consider TK's suggesting of decreasing the

dosing to every 2.5 hours. (To save sanity, you might want to do it at

3 hours at night, 2.5 in the day.)

I guess I will stick with DMSA for some more rounds, but try to

reduce the dosage some and take it every 3 hours.

Do you recommend to start the next round regardless of symptoms

(fategue, burning muscles etc.), or would it be better to wait for

(increased) symptoms to be reduced ?

Kyrre -

I'd say it's a matter of whether the symptoms are accumulating as you go

from round to round, in which case you want more rest and more

supportive therapies. Otherwise, you're good.

I do not think I can say they accumulate, not from round to round.

But the last round it accumulated during round, and got even worse as

I stopped, which makes me think I have to switch from every 4 hours

to every 3 hours with DMSA.

Felt quite good last saturday, which was the first day of a new

round, then it got worse during round.

The last round was (only) three days.

I'm thinking of going all the way down to 12,5 mg (currently 33 mg)

and start a round 3 days after the end of the last round.

This morning my muscles are burning and feel weak.
