Am I just over emotional or would you feel the same... My baby is nearly 6

mth and as i have returned to work pt evenings, he often has a bottle of

expressed breast milk after I have left, before bed.

We decided to try him with formula as I want to have another baby and my

periods are yet to return. He took (grabbed!) the bottle, and wouldnt let go

until he finished it all.

I thought babies prefered breast milk, I feel really sad that he doesnt seem

to care where he gets it from. I know I should be really grateful that he

will take formula so easily, but I thought he might have put up a bit of a

fight!!

Is this normal for him to not care, and is it normal for me to feel upset? I

am a bit down anyway as I am sad to give up breast feeding, but I really

need to! Seems DS isnt as attached to me as I thought! :(((

It is just that he was probably hungry or thirsty at the time and it is

quicker to get out of a bottle than a boob thats all.

Yes it's normal to feel this - I did both times - and it certainly

doesn't mean he isn't attached to you. Expect your hormones to

make you a bit up and down for the first few weeks after giving up

- it seems to have happened to everyone i know (including me!)

At least you can keep the thought in your mind that it isn't the last

time you'll be feeding a baby.
