If you are contemplating whether you want to sign up for lung transplant think about being able to fly to HI and go into the ocean. Exercising in the water at sea level makes you stronger and eases breathing (at least after a transplant). The sunny warm weather and Trade Winds are also wonderful. If you fear you are not brave enough for a transplant, don't tell your pulmo doc that; just insist on the tests to get on the list and then you can decide. I didn't really decide until the night they called me. I always thought that 13 was my lucky number.
