Guest guest
Today we had another appointment At Shands, complete with new tests. My lungs continue to deteriorate , and I am now down to 43% lung capacity. We still do not know when we will receive the call...............it will happen when there is the " right " match. Due to the change in my test scores, my number on the UNOS list will go up, but that means little until a donor is identified. Because I have type B blood and they tell us it is the rarest blood type, it is likely that when a donor of this blood type is found, that I will get the call.( I asked him about this and he repeated that sentence....I always thought that AB was the rarest.) There are very few people on Shands list that have this blood type. this means we remain in the same position. The call could come today, a month from now, or 6 months from now. If no call, I go back in 3 months for another visit. I saw Dr. Akindepe.......he is a great Md.....and such a kind man.......I asked if it were possible for me to see the x-rays and the CT scan and he made a call and had them sent to the computer so I could " see " it.................the honeycombing and all the white stuff. It was an awakening for both Jim and I. Take care and hope everyone has an easy night Kathy.fl PF.......4/07 Waiting for the " call "
