Guest guest
Old Timers, Newbies & every one in between .....this Forum produces a really important 'conversation' that ebbs n' flows, changes direction, throws light where there has only been dark & offers comradeship & understanding. It fills a huge void where our Professional people can't go. They don't have the training, time or capacity to engage in the way that we need. They can medicate us, test our PFT's, measure our 6MWT, fill out scripts...even transplant us BUT they can't 'hold our hands' when we feel most vulnerable. Yes, as Sher, Peggy n' Bruce have said we older members sometimes feel like we've been re-typing stuff we've already said before. Sometimes our energy flags & we stop for a while. Even when I'm not posting I'm 'connected' ...reading, smiling, feeling sad for someone...sending cyberspace Huggys! Soon I hope you lot will meet another Aussie that K has linked me up with via the Carer's Board... he lives only an hour & a bit away in my old Home Town. It turns out that his father-in-law was MY father's Work Boss all those year's ago. How awesome is that ... it takes an American Board to put 2 Aussies in touch with each other & then we find quite close connections. We spent ages on the phone last night..I spoke with his wife & Mike (he's 71)...he was feeling so isolated with his out-of-the-blue Diagnosis...now he can reach out to me...I've been mailing his daughter...WOW...big thank you to K..see it pays to stay in touch with one another! is now part of the Carer's Forum but KNEW that it was important to set up this contact. It seems that Aussies come & Aussies go on this Board but THIS Aussie is a true Blue, Dinky 'Dyed in the Wool' Member of this PF Forum! (That means you can't EVER get rid of ME!) Got THAT......now it's time for 'Smoko' (that means..morning tea time..no ciggies...PROMISE!) Lotsa, GIO/SGIO NEVER for one moment feel like we don't care or don't read or don't FEEL ...
