Guest guest
Yahoo Groups has been acting up the last month or so. I made a post on March 24 that didn't show up until March 29. Guest guest
007, The messages that were delayed for a few days were the problem of Yahoo! Groups, not the moderators. I remember approving some messages and even wrote one of my own and didn't see them until a few days later. That problem seems to have cleared up now and hasn't occurred for a few weeks. I know some may remember that Yahoo! Groups did a few days worth of maintenance a few weeks ago. The trouble seemed to happen then and then cleared up a few days after the maintenance was over. I think the speed of the messages being approved is rather quick for a moderated board -- at the very most maybe 4 to 5 hours. I know you would agree that we have to monitor our board from those with less than honorable intentions who choose not to talk intelligently and maturely about rosacea. Take care, Matija > > I posted a note on April 11. It still hasn't shown up. It was > > lengthy and included my concerns, questions and story. I don't > think > > I can recompose it. Guest guest
: I'm sorry that this happened to your post. I don't recall seeing it myself. Anything is possible and it still may show up. I don't know if this is what happened to your post, but you have to be careful on how you address it. As well, if it was a reply to an original message on the board, you may have sent it to just the poster who originally wrote the message and not the board. Also, you may have been timed out of your email account. That's happened to me when I've written lengthy posts. I take a while to compose an email and then click the send button and nothing happens for a few seconds. Then I get a message from my email account that I've been locked out of my account due to inactivity and my message has not been delivered and it's gone. Please try posting your message again. If you have any difficulty, please let me or Pascoe know. We'll try to help you out! Take care, Matija > I posted a note on April 11. It still hasn't shown up. Hi Matija, What about this odd problem...I get the list messages via my email and recently, after looking on Yahoo Groups, at the most recent messages, have noticed to my surprise that I'm not getting all of them! Not a lot, but a few, within the span of a few days, have not gotten to my own email. Would this be a Yahoo Group, cea Group or my own ISP problem?? > I think the speed of the messages being approved is rather quick for > a moderated board -- at the very most maybe 4 to 5 hours. > > I know you would agree that we have to monitor our board from those > with less than honorable intentions who choose not to talk > intelligently and maturely about rosacea. I am on several other busy mailing lists, all unmoderated (though membership may require approval) so I was a bit surprised when I found out this board's messages required approval. Was this always the case or was there some sort of a problem along the way that caused the status to go moderated? And also, just out of curiosity, what are the board's standards for " intelligent and mature " posts? Thanks for sharing, > Take care, > Matija > > > >>> I posted a note on April 11. Hi , I consider this a Yahoo problem. I am on another Yahoo mailing list, that is fairly active, and it happened to me a few times that an occassional post did not make it into my mailbox (I would see others' responses, but not the original post itself). Also, quite recently, one of the members switched to a different ISP. I stopped receiving her list posts, but when she emailed me directly there was no problem. I changed my profile in order to receive the posts at a different account (I have a total of 3) and voila, everything was fine. Guest guest
this is because some people reply through the posts they receive through email, which goes to the message board as well as to other email recipients.. other people reply using the message boards and not email, in which case i think many times only register on the boards and not thru email.. at least this was the case with another yahoogroup i was part of a year ago. > > What about this odd problem...I get the list messages via my email and > > recently, after looking on Yahoo Groups, at the most recent messages, have > > noticed to my surprise that I'm not getting all of them! > > Hi , > I consider this a Yahoo problem.
