Guest guest
Oh, this is such sad, sad news to me. Sherry had become my friend and reached out to me privately many times. I would like to know what exactly happened. She was a lovely, caring person, for sure. Elisa Subject: Re: Sad NewsTo: Breathe-Support Date: Monday, March 2, 2009, 11:18 AM MBI do so hope all her family knew and understood and was comfortable withher decision. We do sometimes overlook the fact that regardless of theone year success rates, whether 75% or 80%, that leaves a verysignificant risk. My mother once had a surgery that she and all of usknew going in had a 20% probability of not surviving the surgery(quadruple heart bypass in 1969). Fortunately, we all knew it was theright choice for her regardless. I hope they continue to improve theprocess for all of you who are potential candidates.Sherry did understand and found a hospital she was comfortable with andI so hope her family can picture her even now saying that she's glad shewent for it even if it didn't work out. It's still very hard to digest as I've known those who diedpost-transplant but she's the first person I've personally known to dieduring the transplant. I know she's fine now, but just hope her familyknows that as well and realizes a strong woman did what she felt she hadto do.>> This is a very hard thing for me to find out as I'm sure it is for allof us. There is no one who thought more carefully about transplant.Sherry weighed her options, researched, educated herself, prayed aboutit and made her decision to go for it. Unfortunately the outcome was theopposite of what she and her family wished for.> Though I'd rather have her here with us, I'm confident that she isgone to a place where she doesn't have to worry about her lungs anymore.>> Beth> Moderator> Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 Dermatomyositis 11/08>>>>>> ____________ _________ _________ __> To: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. com> Sent: Monday, March 2, 2009 10:50:55 AM> Subject: Sad News>>> Hi all,> This is the rough part of this disease and being a member of support> group.... Guest guest
Suzi, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. Is she to heavily sedated to be able to talk with you? I know you must be worried and exhausted. I hope your brother is able to sit with her some so that you can rest and take care of yourself. You have gone through so much in the short time you have been on the board. I will continue to think about you and send my prayers for your family. Margaret To: Breathe-Support Sent: Monday, March 2, 2009 6:18:20 PMSubject: Re: Sad News Hi Air Family, so sorry to read this. I read Sherry's notice, she was born and raised about an hour away from me in Chicagoland. I've been away from the board for a few days as my Mom is still, or back in, the hospital. There was emergency back surgery last Wednesday, as compression fractures and tumors were seen on MRI. Pathology shows Adeno Carcinoma, lung cancer, tumors at mid and lower spine, the larger tumor at L3, growing out of the bone. Thanks to all I've e-mailed and chatted with already. I'll be around, thanks, Suzi.

Guest guest
Sher, Thank you for letting us know. I'm saddened but not surprised. I'm very glad to hear it was peaceful and also happy that I got to talk to her a couple of times last week. She was definitely a "persistant fighter" as she called herself wasn't she? Guest guest
Sher Thanks for letting us know. I'm a firm believer that Lou let go when it was time. I hope Earl is at peace with it as much as I truly believe she was. She was an inspiration and I know when I reach the latter stages I will remember and draw strength from her. She was so very much alive until that final moment, sending her love to all of us. Yet, she was also very much at peace with death. I'm glad the event she was waiting for took place for her before she had to go. I will never hear the name Lou without smiling. > > Lou died in her sleep last night.... > (daughter) says it was very peaceful. > She was gone when Earl awoke at 4 A.M. > Her O2 mask apparently had slide off during the night............ cause of death ...??? probably. > > > MamaSher; 70, IPF 3-06, OR. > Nasturtiums > Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! >

Guest guest
Dear Lou What to say that hasn't been said already? She was a light in our lives that is extinquished but will forever live on in our heart. What great memories! She was too much fun. She was an inspiration by just being her lovely self. It is amazing to me how close we become to folks that we have never physically met but met through our hearts and souls. I think Bruce said this already, but I feel the exact same way, I will always smile when I think of Lou or hear her name mentioned. I love you this day....Leanne

Guest guest
Big hugs honey I have three nephews with Muscular Dystrophy. Well I should say "two" because one of the boys committed suicide. The "boys" are 50 and 52 now. The 50 year old, Greg, has a grandson named Sam. Greg just took Sam to be tested and the results are in-- Sam also has MD. Sam just turned 6 last week. I feel sad for Sammy. Sammy doesn't know yet. How do you tell a 6 year old something like that? Please keep Sam and his family in your prayers. hugs Sharon This email is a natural hand made product.
