Guest guest
Embarq customer don't know who you are are you going to Penn? 3 day eval is the assessment at Penn to determine if a person is a candidate for a lung transplant i was dx in March 2006, my eval was in July 2006 it is a 3 day outpatient evaluation day 1 -- started off with blood tests, lots of tubes drawn then all sorts of other tests, various radiolographical tests; tb, etc tests; i think the ABG and PFT's were done that afternoon day 2 -- don't remember which tests were done in am, then in pm there were 4 meetings with social worker, financial coordinator, dietician, and explainer of transplant process day 3 -- cardiac cath i have the details written down, this is how i remember it was not bad at all then the transplant team meets after all of the results are in patient meets about 4 to 6 weeks later for follow up appt gist of my follow up was that my lungs at the time were too healthy for a transplant (we knew that prior to eval) and that I would be a candidate down the road this eval also determines if someone is not a candidate down the road the bright side was that on day 1, i met all of these recently transplanted people who were very happy with their transplants and i saw the light at the end of the tunnel the scariest part for me was the cardiac cath, but that was not bad at all, however, no one warned me about lying flat on my back for several hours after the cardiac cath, for me that was the worst part of the entire eval -- lying flat on my back for several hours Pink Joyce (IPF 3/06) IFA 5/09 Pennsylvania Donate Life Listed 1/09 Inactive 4/09 www.transplantfund.org--- Subject: Re: Testing at U. of PennTo: Breathe-Support Cc: Breathe-Support Date: Saturday, May 30, 2009, 8:58 AM Can someone explain what the three day test is?
