Guest guest
Just wanted to add my 2 cents here. A bad case of tendonitis in both wrists is what partially (I believe) set off my fibro. I took prednisone 2 different times - actually the Medrol dose pack - and the only side effect I experienced was a little water weight gain. I took Prednisone for 30 days and gained 30 pounds without eating any different from I always have. I have lost 20 but as we all know, that last 10 can be a bummer. The doctor that prescribed it to me to it for 14 days and he gained 15 pounds. I don't know if he is still prescribing it as much but I think and I told him that he should warn patients about the likelihood of weight gain. Guest guest
--- When I've had to take this for lung issues, I HATE the way my head feels; its like I overdosed on dexatrim! I also get very hateful. However, I have no fibro pain when I've had to take it. Personally, I'd rather have the fibro than be the Wicked Witch. That's what it does to me. It saved me from hacking off my arms at the wrist with a steak knife. I think it's probably like all meds - it has different side effects and benefits at different doses and for different people. I have asmatic friends who swear by it. I would not hesitate to take again, at least short-term. > > As they say in 12 step groups - take what works for you and leave the rest! > > > > --------------------------------- >

How long did it take you to develop your " wicked witch " symptom? I tend to get cranky when I get tired, so whether true or not, it makes me feel like I'd be one of those to get " mood changes. I'm going to be starting day 4 here in a little while, and I'm still my " sweet " self, so I guess I'm going to be fortunate and not suffer from mood swings, unless it's getting off the stuff. But I won't have been on it long, so hopefully, that won't be a problem either. Darcy
Guest guest
I weaned off prednisone very slowly after 2 1/2 yrs. It has been a month now and every bone in my body aches and several points on my body are sore to the touch ,it hurts worse now than in the begining. Is this normal and how long will it last? Maybe it is a flare up to my auto immune diseases? IPF 2/07 Scleroderma Raynauds Sjogren's IL
