Joyce,

Your left lung has two lobes as your friend told you. So the doctor will be taking samples from each lobe in the left lung.

I hope they are able to really get alot of good information for you and can figure out what they can do for you.

It doesn't surprise me that you are still having difficulty. Re-homing your birds unfortunately doesn't make the lung damage just disappear. You'll have more answers after the biopsy. I wish you the very best!

Well, I am having my VATS on Thursday morning and if all goes well I'll be home Friday. I am having it in my left lung and it will be multiple lobes. A friend told me that the left lung only has two lobes so I guess that will be what I'll have. Oddly I always think that my right lung is worse but it isn't.Have had episodes of feeling like I am suffocating and have almost paniced but I don't understand why this is happening since I am no longer around birds. I feel like I can't get enough air. Most distressing. Anyway, wish me luck! Joyce Rudy AZ

It may vary by location but in my case, even though the left lung only

has two lobes, they still took three samples. This allowed them to get

to the upper part and lower part of a lobe.
