Guest guest
Hi Mama Sher, My doc appointment went pretty well today I thought. My family doctor is so sweet. She asked me how my family situation was going with Brent and I told her and she was very understanding about the whole thing. She gave me some Ambien to help me sleep (my Gyne gave me some Xanax and wouldn't refill it) cuz she said the Ambien would be better for sleep than the Xanax, so I am going to try it. Is a low dose at only 5 mg, but I will try it. I am up for anything just to get some sleep!! I told her the whole story about the ovary and my visit to Birmingham and him saying I may have an underlying cancer, so she is requesting my records from Birmingham and from the Gyne/Oncology in and after they get those, she said she will get with my pulmo (which is her husband) and they will decide what I need to do next. She didn't want to suggest anything until she sees the records. That is fine with me. I have appointment Tuesday with the pulmo, so maybe they will have them back by then. I gave them both fax numbers and phone numbers, so shouldn't be a problem, I would think. I am just anxious to find out one way or the other. Really frustrating when they tell you have cancer but they don't know where it is and all I am doing is waiting!! Anyhoo, it is a gorgeous day outside today FINALLY, so I am fixing to go and walk my Gizzy!! I know he will love it!! Hope you all have a good night and I will keep you posted!! Guest guest
Bruce... I've spent $60 in co-pays these past two weeks. I see my pulmodude May 1st. No openings 'till then unless it's emergency. After all this time I guess it isn't an emergency. lol. Meds have been decreased and new ones added. boy the stuff for itching (side effects from pain meds) really works. In one day the itching is nearly gone. The two of you take care! MamaSher; 70, IPF 3-06, OR. Guest guest
Joe, I have used a nebulizer in the past. It's a way of getting medication directly into both our breathing passages and also into our lungs. Depending on the medication it can open things up, help break up mucous and thin it out etc etc. Without knowing what you have been given to put in the nebulizer it's hard to know what they're trying to accomplish but my guess would be they are trying to break things up so you can cough it up. Guest guest
yes Joe, I use a nebulizer for my asthma and the hospital told me to every couple of breathes hold your breath to the count of 10 to get the meds all the way down there. It helps. Also I got a plastic piece off the internet that you put on the end of the mouthpiece and it really gets alot of the mucus up.
