Guest guest
Kay, My name is Sunny and I also have Lupus and Granulated (ground glass) nodules in my lungs. Mine have progressed over the last two years. My pulmo guy said they were nothing to worry about two years ago but I have yet to see him since my last high resolution CT. I got the results from the lab myself. He had my ct scan that was done 5 years ago. And said it doesn't show anything on that ct scan. So this is probably occured in the last five years. He did a complete exam and must have talked to me for a hour. I was so afraid. He ordered a high resolution cat scan and PFT's with blood gases, also a noctural o2 for overnight study. He also sent me for blood work to check for rumatoid arthritis and lupus. Does anyone on this board have lupus??? He also talked about a lung biopsy. Has anyone every hears of a Dr... Guest guest
Hi Kay - welcome. I also have been diagnosed with RA and the jury is still out on the lupus. My rheumatologist is treating me for it anyway. The RA is serum-negative meaning it won't show up on the tests. Those of us with auto-immune stuff are special in that way. I don't care what he calls it and aren't worried about continuing to test for stuff that may never show up as long as he treats aggressively like he is doing. I was DX with NSIP w/PF in Dec, 2006, and lots of other things as well since then. Something hurts all the time. I developed Type II diabetes and then rapidly developed neuropathy in my feet even though the diabetes is well controlled. My body just hates itself. Good luck with your journey. It is scary but it is sort of like juggling. Start with 2 balls and move on to 3, then 4. Life is like that now. It is manageable but it has to be managed every day. NasturtiumsDon't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! first visit to pulmo guy (Newby) Hi everyone , I went to see my pulmon guy ( first visit ) he showed me the ct scan of my lungs and said I have that crushed glass haze , and honeycombing in the lower part of my lungs. Guest guest
ok, thanks Kay. I guess I got confused between the Beverly and the Kay and thought we had two Kays. Good Grief...I'll catch up.... lol I think I remembered to greet and welcome you already. Get some brochures for Leanne (post her name in the subject line) and request she mail you some. Pass them out to your family. It's hard for families. I'm sure yours is scared like many of ours. Give them time and keep talking to them...maybe get your mom or someone to go to the dr. with you. Reassure them you are not going to die next week! Peggy says we have no expiration date stamped on our fannies... Keep on keepin' on. MamaSher; 70, IPF 3-06, OR. Guest guest
Sher, It's Pickel and I am a Sunny Pickel no matter what my body decides to do. When they first said Lupus 4 years ago I knew I was in a pickel. Then they said Sjogrens and diabetes and I realized I was in a Jar of Pickels. Then came arthritis and loss of bone density and too many tests and meds to list. I knew I had fallen in to the pickel barrel. After 4 gastric bleeding ulcers, Barrett's Disease, neck fusion and now IPF I realize I am and will always be in a pickel but hopefully I will be a sweet gerkin til the end. I keep complaining to anyone who will listen (until their ears bleed) that they have scooped out all my parts inside that I can live without but I didn't drop one pound. Surely all that stuff must weigh something. But thanks to the IPF I have started dropping weight like crazy. I have been on Prednisone for years and that makes it hard to get or keep off weight so I guess there is a "sunny" side to having IPF. Sorry so Punny today but it's March 29th (supposedly Spring) and the Idaho panhandle looks like the north pole. I am determined to keep my spirits from sagging (unlike other parts of me). Guest guest
We each have many plates we juggle don't we... I think I could have leakage out both feet and still not lose weight. Diet, no diet, exercise...none. I stay within a 10# up or down. I don't care anymore. I try to be careful but I'm not weight obsessed anymore. Spring is slow here for us too. Think I'll buy some daffodils at the store! Take care. MamaSher; 70, IPF 3-06, OR.
