Hi gkhf

We're not all as active weekends as during the week, so you may not get too

many responses immediately. Have you any test results to share with us? It

always helps to understand better, if you post your labs & their reference

ranges. I assume you have just been diagnosed, so you should have all of

them.

I don't know what lexapro is, I'm on Tapazole not PTU, nor am I on a beta

blocker--so my helpfulness to you is limited, at this point. It would also

help if you could describe your pains a bit more. " Chest pain " could be just

about anything from heartburn to breathing-related problems to heart rate or

something more serious. " Leg pain " could, again, be so many things. Feeling

feverish-well, we hypers do tend to be hot! The Battle of the Thermostat is

a common problem for us.

Anyway, welcome--and the more info you can give us the better. You might

also pick up Elaine 's book, Graves Disease, a Practical Guide--should

be available in Amazon, & Noble, etc. Lots to digest in it, but it's

a great book.

Oh...I forgot to suggest, go to the home page for group and check out the

files section. There's a symptom list, a letter to the newly diagnosed, and

more.

Might be helpful.

Hi ,

Hard to tell what this is. If you remember, when we first spoke, I mentioned

the fact that this doctor having you start on three drugs all at the same

time, is going to make it much more difficult to have any idea what is

caused by what.

Anytime you are started on an anti depressant, there is a 'break in period'

and this is worse during the first month. The benefits of these drugs (

antidepressants ) can not be judged for three months.

Here were the side effects of the Lexapro, from the manufacture, plus I am

sure there are many more not listed. Since this is true for ALL other drugs.

:-(

*The most common side effects reported with LEXAPRO vs. placebo were nausea,

insomnia, problems with ejaculation, drowsiness, increased sweating, and

fatigue. *

Hard to say if these are the problem or Graves' OR PTU OR the BB's.

Do tell us what you mean by chest pain , as Terry suggested.

-Pam L-

3 1/2 yr.Graves and TED, PTU, Remission due to education, SLOW reduction of

PTU, improved lifestyle, excellent nutrition, herbs, and looking at the BIG

picture !

Pills alone only fix symptoms. We must help our bodies to heal.
