I have done one needlepoint cushion and I never want to repeat the experience!! I had callouses on my fingers and thumbs from pushing and pulling the needle through the canvas! Cross stitch is a definite winner for me! http://www.foxstitch.co.uk/

Tapestries, needlepoint, embroidery and cross stitch have now all come up in this thread. What's the difference between them all? My Mum does some sort of sewing picture things and I don't know which it is! And a friend does quilting. What's that? Guest guest
LOL Ruth, yes I was going to ask you whether you'd be interested! We're just discussing Miss Garnet's Angel by Salley Vickers at the mo - and I'll be announcing the next book on Saturday night and anyone can ask to join us, unfortunately having set up the membership at the beginning the way I did, I can't alter it... DH has been reading Bill Bryson, three of them in rotation, one after the other like a needle stuck in an old fashioned LP, Notes from a Big Country, The Lost Continent, and Neither Here nor There, (I'm amazed and astounded that he hasn't taken one of them to Rome with him, what will he be reading all on his own on a lovely June evening in Rome a-bed, I am now awondering!!) and he chortles usually just as I'm dropping off to sleep, regularly....I've actually resorted to the spare room bed when v tired, to discover, that it is an amazingly comfortable one, and you can't hear the dog snoring either....) If you have read Miss Garnet e mail me pronto!! ;-) Caro
