I know the danger time is at the begining but I would not panic too much just yet. Trisha SAHM to 3 boys

I don't think it is a risk if your DD2 doesn't get it and you don't see the baby with chickenpox until after the scabs have dried up. but check to make sure!! And for peace of mind! Let us know if you do find out, cos in a way it is something of interest to all of us! or could be in the future. Guest guest
I agree with Hannah as long as you have had cp yourself you should have antibodies that should protect your baby. (but you could have a blood test to find out if you are immune they " normally " run this with the first lot of bloodtests anyway) On a Chicken Pox note I have finally found out what that calamine type thing was that I used with my oldest (my friend who had both her kids down with cp last year could remember LOL) it is called Lacto Calamine... and well for us it worked great ;o) Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already. Guest guest
Francesca, you should be fine if you've already had it. I had it at New Year and 27 weeks pregnant, but they weren't at all concerned with the baby, they just wanted to make sure I didn't get it severely because of the pneumonia complication. The main thing is that they act fast, so it may be worth you getting a quick appointment for a blood test. If it shows that you are immune then you have no worries, but if it doesn't show immunity, they can arrange for you to have the VZIG antibodies injected immediately (or as soon as they can - it is like gold dust and my local hospital wouldn't put them in the post for fear of breakage, my DH had to go and collect the four lots that I had to have injected!). But as I say, if you've already had it, it wouldn't matter how many times you came into contact with it, and it probably would be good for your daughter to get it over and done with before you get to the throwing up stage.....!!
