Guest guest
I had my Pet/CT scan done Friday morning and of course a nervous wreck till I see the oncologist Tuesday afternoon. They did not use a contrast like they do for CT scans which I am allergic to so that was fine. I did have to drink barium which has never bothered me and I was impressed a actual Dr came in to inject the radioactive stuff. Had two Pet scans before and never saw the Dr. This one even did the scan. They first gave me two glasses of pink stuff that really was not bad. Then the injection and another glass of white stuff just before the scan. The nurse opened the bottle of white stuff and smelled it. Said we need to get rid of this old stuff. I told her it did not taste to good. Anyway after I left I got very nauseous and made it home just in time the diarrhea started for the afternoon and I didn't feel so good. I don't know if it was that white stuff or what. Never had a problem with barium before and they told me I would have no after effects from this test. Has this happened with anyone else? I will mention it to the oncologist Tuesday. Hil
Guest guest
I am not positive but I remember them telling me that they do put something in the drinks to help our bodies get rid of the stuff they put through us. I too had some diarrhea after my scans. They told me I might. So was not to concerned with it. Only lasted that evening. I am Praying that all turns out normal with your scans. I know too well that the waiting game is the most difficult. Take it minute to minute and try to stay busy so you don't dwell on it too munch. Clean out some drawers or work on a project. Just try to keep your mind on other things. The results will get here soon enough. Best Wishes for you, Ingrid > I had my Pet/CT scan done Friday morning and of course a nervous wreck till I see the oncologist Tuesday afternoon.
