Guest guest
Ruthie needs cheering up. I always get like this when I finish a novel because 1. Anti climax after all the intensity of the writing. I am unable to begin a new book until I've had at least a few weeks/months of braindead time. 2. I suddenly got the feeling today : " what if the publishers hate the whole book? " Logically I know this isn't very likely; they have published two of my crime novels already and know my style and like it. I phoned Tavya for reassurance today and she said " Mummy the WORST case scenario is that they'll ask you to do some quite major changes, so you'll do them! And that's that! " But even that's unlikely; it's more likely I'll have to do minor changes than major, and *extremely* remote that they'll hate the whole book so much that it's unsalvageable. And what compounds it all, is that no one has read it cept me, so I *really* have no objective views on it. DH usually does a critique and proof reads it, and he will this time too...eventually... but he is v. busy with something else right now and totally involved in it, and won't even HEAR of reading my manuscript until he is more free from his other commitments. Tavya and her husband Dov will do a full proofread/critique, but they are in Israel. I have found someone travelling to Israel tomorrow who is willing to take the manuscript, so they'll probably get it by Tuesday ish. Sorry. I am sure this interests nobody but it helps to write it down. Ruthie
