- I will get an update on this from my brother who is an eye

surgeon; last time I asked him he suggested I didn't do it but I

can't remember if it was because of quite a lot of astigmatism as well

as short sightedness.

We have a life guard down at our local pool who has just had this

done. Her eyesight was really bad and I have heard that she is well

impressed although she has had to have 5 weeks off work. Something

to do with the chlorine (SP?) in the pool and infections.

She should be back at work soon.

I am short-sighted (and have an astigmatism) and had a sight test last week.

The optician said I had reached " that age " when you start to become

long-sighted and in fact my prescription had reverted to the one I had about 4

years ago (lucky I kept my old specs, that's saved me a fair bit of money). If

you have short-sightedness corrected by laser surgery, does that mean that a

few years down the line you are likely to need specs for long-sightedness?
