Guest guest
Well, cycle #1 is pretty much history now. I have a two week resting period during which I have a few blood draws to see what my body is doing. The only side effect worth noting was constipation which was handled with a laxative. In all it was an easy round of chemo. The doctors and nurses at the Cancer Treatment and Research Center in San have been great. I felt at home the first day, and had a very nice week with them. Since this is a teaching center as well I got to meet some visiting medical and nursing students -- all very nice people. If you have to go through a clinical trial, this is a good place to do it. I'll start cycle #2 on August 15 and repeat the same series of infusions and blood draws as the first cycle. After I finish the second cycle we'll do CT and CEA to see if the drug is working. As always, thanks for being here and sharing your support as I go through the unknown. -joe-
