Guest guest
Kathleen No one referred to your brothers deaths as gloom and doom. i know its a very emotional issue to you but you've entirely off base in that regard. The post which apparently bothers you was the start of an entirely different thread and not a response to anything you'd posted. It was to Ray, not to you, not in response to you. I will say the same thing....we're not all about doom and gloom. But, in saying that I'm not talking in any way about your post or your brothers' deaths. We've all lost friends on the forum. 's post was a follow up to mine which was an answer to Sher's.....none of it was in anyway related to your post. > > > From: lbsmith789@sbcgloba l.net> > Subject: Hi all - welcome Ray and other news > To: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. com > Date: Tuesday, March 10, 2009, 10:02 PM > > > > > Welcome to the Air family Ray. Guest guest
Kathleen, Peggy and Sher, I was extremely offended by Bruce when I first joined this group. He wasn't even responding to me but it was how he responded to someone else in an insensitive way. I felt his response to Kathleen today had the same flavor. I am sorry Kathleen.. He lit into me with a vengeance when I responded on the board after asking Beth if I could speak to her about my feelings privately and she responded to assure me that anything I had feelings about could be openly addressed on board. Bruce has some good information but also has outburst should anyone respond to anything he says with less than 100% agreement. After I followed Beth's direction and he lit into me two more times she responded that he was not in the united nations...therefore lacked tact. I am sincere in my feelings and feel there has been a coolness to me over that incident. Some of these people have been here a long time and are used to each other; it can be hurtful to new comers. I sometimes think people respond in off color ways but I blow them off as whatever...I think you are extremely knowledgeable and what is happening in your family is tragic. I am truly sorry. I feel totally helpless to only say that I recognize your painful feelings and fears and can only offer my thoughts and prayers. Sometimes in our situations we do have quick tempers and the insensitive may see us as being unreasonable asses but of all people we should know, we should be the ones to understand that we are floating between denial, rage and acceptance...some days I am as pissed off as hell about everyone and everything, it can be about some particular thing or a build up of everything we are going through piling up. Some of us are going to respond to certain situations and ignore others...I guess after all that is how families are including this air family. So for me, you are very welcome to be here and it is obvious you have much knowledge to contribute. I am a person that others may say lacks humor but that is me. Guest guest
Jack, you are a light on this board and if it were not for your kindness I would have probably not continued. I speak my truth and perhaps in my current situation I do wear my feelings on my sleeve. That is where I am and right now it is in tears out of gratitude to you. I felt a distinct chill of exclusion from some of the prominent old timers on site. I gave my gloomy pulmo visit results from three visits and got two superficial non feeling comments. I am reading these days for feeling people where I can respond in a feeling and sincere manner. It's the old golden rule thing about doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. I guess I am simple minded and concrete but I feel comfortable in my position. I guess I haven't had enough fun in my life. Guest guest
Thanks Sher! Gosh I don't know what I said that upset everybody so much but many apologies. I don't know that the physical position I described for checking butt-stamped expiration dates is even possible. Even for small children or teenagers. Nonetheless, it was all meant to be in fun. Guest guest
Thank you, Margaret. Kindness is something my parents taught me by their actions. Although we were well below the poverty line and sometimes our meals were scanty, they always found enough to share with others who had even less than ourselves. I like to help people, but I never think of it in terms of kindness but as a responsibility to my fellow humans. Besides, it makes me feel good. Guest guest
Pink I fear pain.....it's sort of simple. I don't like it and don't want it. As to fearing dying more than death or one stage more than another, I read what Lou rights and imagine myself with , two cats instead of a dog, morphine, as a companion in the evening. For me, thinking ahead, planning it out in my mind, thinking that even the worse isn't so awful, all helps me. I have seen many here further along than I am and seen how they dealt with it and I have such incredible mentors from them. But, the big thing is that I don't call it dying.....I think of being dead as a single instantaneous moment, but every second until then I'm alive. I'm closer to death each day, but everyone is. But, I'm living. And, so much of what I've learned here is how to live with the disease. I live differently today than I did yesterday and will live differently tomorrow. But, its all life and I'll make each day as good as I can. I'll have bad days, but then I'll just try to rally the next. I enjoy knowing people from all around the world too and each of you bring me a different perspective. So, I'm happy for you Phillie fans when they win and so happy when you guys had the Pennsylvania or general area get together. Guest guest
Caro When it comes to those things i don't think any of us are patient. I don't think most doctors really grasp how difficult the periods of waiting are. As to a son, I am not a parent and can't fully imagine what its like to struggle and fear for your son. But, I do know you are a loving mom and all any parents can do is their best. There is no magic formula to parenting at any age. All one can do is follow their own heart and instinct. > > > > > > From: lbsmith789@sbcgloba l.net> > > Subject: Hi all - welcome Ray and other news > > To: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. com > > Date: Tuesday, March 10, 2009, 10:02 PM > > > > > > Welcome to the Air family Ray.
