Guest guest
You could have a point. But we do have some kind of duty towards our kids, and we don't really go for the " let them do what they like and choose what religion they want " school of religious upbringing. Considering how orthodox we are, we have given Yeshaya considerable freedom and lassitude. Ruthie
Guest guest
Ruthie, you know I sympathise and empathise with all your postings about teens as I have an extremely stroppy nearly 15 y-o myself. She breaks up this Friday for 2 months(!) and she's off to PGL on the 14th with the two worst girls in her class (I would say that wouldn't I). I'm expecting them to be sent home early for bad behaviour as both the other two drink (usually alcopops like Bacardi Breezers or Archers, but also proper Smirnoff), they all smoke (not just cigarettes either) and they all seem to chat to strangers in coffee bars and the street. I don't worry too much about smoking and drinking because I think all teenagers do it at some time and at least she tells me about it, but I do worry about their hanging around in the streets till 11:00 or 12:00 at night. Still, maybe a PGL camp will be safer than London! Everyone tells me she can only get better but I'm not convinced since I'm 42 and have NEVER got on with my parents! But that's another story..... Interesting - I think I'll mind a lot more about alcohol and smoking (perhaps because I was a teenager who didn't - and that Methodist streak - but also because I don't want them damaging that body I gave them, a professional and personal insult) than being out. > >Everyone tells me she can only get better but I'm not convinced since >I'm 42 and have NEVER got on with my parents!
