Guest guest
I don't have an answer about the iodine but FWIW wanted to comment because, just recently, I think iodine might have been causing me problems too. I had a contrast ct scan done mid-february; I was injected with iodine so they could read the scan. I didn't feel good after the injection but felt it could have been due to many factors over there... When I got back from Hawaii, a week or so ago, I resumed chelation and had some unusual (for me) side effects. I was pretty miserable. I resumed my daily hour-long saunas on Friday of last week. The first sauna I took, my sweat reeked of what I thought smelled like bad ammonia. The next couple of saunas I identified the strong smell as iodine (!) Straight clear pure iodine. Last night, the fifth sauna in a row, my sweat smelled like nothing, just like water. I also feel much better today, or at least not as bad as I've been :-) I was obviously excreting iodine six weeks after it was injected so I'm led to believe that the iodine was planning on sticking around and that it wasn't helping my problem. Isn't iodine a heavy metal anyway? I finish the round tonight. ~robin
Guest guest
Hi Robin, Thanks for your reply. NOt sure if that'is the same kind of iodine one actually takes orally, because iodine is an essential element and often mercury displaces it. Blocks the action of it. Somewhat like selenium? I'm sorry to hear of your experience with it, but not sure if it's quite the same thing. But glad yu got it out of your system! ;-) Definitely we do require iodine, but I just wonder whether it has the ability if taken enough, to mobilise metals. Certainly that's how it felt to me! I can't be sure, but am wary now of taking it in higher doses. If I do it again, I'll be using only 1 or 2 drops. Too scared to take 4 drops of it. Though it's only 250 mcg a drop, for me it seemed significant. Cheers. > > Last night, the fifth sauna in a row, my sweat smelled like nothing, > just like water. Something about amino acids.. and maybe that iodine smell was just another version of rank ammonia odor. Well, enough about my sweat here. :-) ~robin
